I have a friend who has Band-in-a-Box and a few arranger keyboards. When he goes out to a one-nighter gig, he only brings one of them, the Technics KN7000. I wondered why the KN, with all the styles available from BiaB and those wonderful, intricate arrangements from some of those other famous keyboards; why is the KN his keyboard of choice? So I listened carefully, went to a gig or two, and listened some more until I realized why. The styles from the KN7000 are basic and they don't get in the way of the song. Plus they are so versatile that you can use each style on many different songs of the same genre. Perhaps because they are so basic and don't have a strong "signature" personality each style covers many songs. So I decided to adapt the KN7000 styles for Band-in-a-Box so that we can have those versatile styles too! Like the style disks that I did for the Korg i3 and the Korg PA80, these styles are not direct copies of the KN7000 styles. That would be impossible as the arranger keyboards and BiaB "think" about the music in different ways. These styles are inspired by the KN7000. I've taken advantage of the fact that BiaB knows what the next chord is going to be before it's played to write patterns that show up in more appropriate musical circumstances. I've also taken advantage of other features of the BiaB StyleMaker to enhance the musicality of the style patterns. The result is a collection of versatile styles that are a necessary addition to everybody's Band-in-a-Box collection. You can use them in "Real Band" or export your BiaB file as a MIDI file, import it into a sequencer, and add these fantastic intros and endings. The best way to describe what is on this disk is to list the styles and post the demo songs. So here we go: Note: The audio MP3 files were recorded using Band-in-a-Box and the Edirol VSC3 Virtual Sound Canvas synthesizer with CDex "ripping" software. They were encoded at a low bit-rate in mono so although the audio fidelity will be low, you will be able to hear all the parts. The low bit-rate results in a small file size for quick downloading and playing, even for those on a dial-up connection.
