Ever since I released disks #4 and #5 for Band-in-a-Box, (styles inspired by the Korg i3 keyboard), people have been asking me to write more styles inspired by those great auto-arrangement keyboards. By far the keyboard requested most often has been the Korg PA80. This disk is not a direct copy of the styles on the PA80. That would be impossible as there are some significant differences between Band-in-a-Box and the Korg. The Korg has up to 7 instruments per style and a different set of percussion instruments. On the other hand, because they "think" about music differently, Band-in-a-Box has many ways to improve the musicality of the styles: (1) My BiaB rhythm patterns are less repetitive than those of the Korg (2) The Korg has only two drum rolls per style, I usually use 5 or more (3) My BiaB styles provides more authentic guitar chord inversions than the Korg (4) BiaB supports many more chord variations (5) Since the cords are entered before the song plays, BiaB knows what chord is coming next and can choose an appropriately musical pattern for that chord. I think the results more than compensate for the differences between the Korg and BiaB.

The best way to describe what is on this disk is to list the styles and post the demo songs. So here we go: Note: The audio MP3 files were recorded using Band-in-a-Box and the Edirol VSC3 Virtual Sound Canvas synthesizer with CDex "ripping" software. They were encoded at a low bit-rate in mono so although the audio fidelity will be low, you will be able to hear all the parts. The low bit-rate results in a small file size for quick downloading and playing, even for those on a dial-up connection.
