The fourth in this disk / book series by Jim Wedd. 100 different great standard songs — no repeats — with the same criteria for the chord substitutions: Jim Wedd, author of the popular Jim Wedd Chord Substitution disks (found on the Norton Music site) has often been asked, "Where can I find the music so I can play along with your fantastic chord changes?". Well, Jim has answered your request by applying his Choice Changes to the songs in the Frank Mantooth series of books. When you purchase this disk, instead of getting Frank Mantooth's changes for the songs in the book, you will get Jim's. There are usually many ways to harmonize a melody, and preferences for any of these variants is a matter of personal taste.    Jim Wedd Will you like Jim Wedd's changes better? Many vocalists do. I sang with Harry James, Jerry Gray, Sy Zentner, Les Brown, Stan Kenton and Charlie Barnet. I was lucky enough to work with some of the best West Coast musicians: Shelly Mann, Mel Lewis, Jimmy Rowles (my personal favorite), Claude Williamson, Lou Levy, Max Bennet, Joe Mondragon, Shorty Rogers, Bud Shank and Dick and Ted Nash, to name a few. Some great arrangers wrote charts for me: Nelson Riddle, Bill Holman, Billy May, Pete Rugalo, and Bob Florence. When I first worked with Jim Wedd I was immediately impressed with his chord changes. They are among the best I have ever heard. I'm always delighted playing or singing along with Jim's changes and know you will enjoy them also.
